Senate Bill 818: State Government - Human Trafficking Address Confidentiality Program

This bill requires the Secretary of State to establish the Human Trafficking Address Confidentiality Program for victims of human trafficking. This program will allow for state and local agencies to request public records relating to the trafficking victim without disclosing an actual address. Additionally, state and local agencies may supplant a victim's actual address with the address for the Department of Secretary of State. This will allow victim's actual location to be shielded on public documents and not accessible by a trafficker.

This law will go into effect October 1, 2014.
